Let’s hope the prequel plays out better than the sequel. (It was good people, not great. Still totally off the mark from the TV show.)
Rumors are circulating that instead of launching another Sex and The City movie with Sarah Jessica Parker and Co., Michael Patrick King is toying with the idea of exploring Carrie Bradshaw’s younger years. You’ll recall Sex mastermind Candace Bushnell wrote the novel The Carrie Diaries not too long ago that follows Carrie’s adventures in New York City before she met Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte.
So, the story is there, the timing is right…all they need is the right girl for the Manolos!
Aaaand they’ve got her! (They didn’t have to look far.)
Sources say that MPK has already made a decision on his first choice for the role – Blake Lively!
Brilliant! She’s gorgeous and blonde, she’s got comparable acting skills and she’s already accustomed with gossiping her way around the Upper East Side! She’s perfect!
