Something so beautiful from something so sad!
Caroline Reinsch and Christian Williams were cheering their friend on at the Boston Marathon in April when a bomb went off right near them!
The couple was taken to a hospital, and there Caroline found out that she was pregnant while being treated for a damaged thigh and quadricep muscles in her right thigh.
Then, seven months later the mother gave birth to her 6lbs 14oz. baby girl Marlowe on December 18th!
The couple was obviously ecstatic and Mr. Williams said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI don’t think that Caroline or I view Marlowe’s conception as a miracle. But, we do think that her timing was quite miraculous. ‘When we could have been focusing on the hardships of recovery, we instead turned our attention on our future as a family. It was just what we needed.├óΓé¼┬¥
It was pretty miraculous though, because the couple had been trying to get pregnant since 2012!
And the new poppa explained more feelings he has about their new addition:
├óΓé¼┼ôDiscovering that I was going to be a father is how I├óΓé¼Γäóll always remember the marathon. Few people are given a chance to see how lucky they are in life. Marlowe reminds us of that. Caroline and I are happy, healthy, and like other new parents├óΓé¼┬ª tired├óΓé¼┬ª As for the name, I’d love to tell you that we based it on Christopher Marlowe’s quote, ├óΓé¼╦£Who has ever loved that hasn’t loved at first sight,├óΓé¼Γäó but that would be a lie. Truthfully, it was just a name that we both really loved for its uniqueness and beauty as well as having a built-in nickname (Marley) that we thought was fun. We did, however, choose Eve as her middle name because her original due date was Christmas Eve, and it also happens to mean ├óΓé¼╦£life.├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼┬¥
Ha! With parents like this, we can already tell that Marlowe is going to have brains and a great sense of humor!
Congrats to this truly fortunate couple!
