Cha-ching!!
Summit said they expect $125 million in the Breaking Dawn domestic opening weekend, but everyone else is calling them out on their lowball, saying there’s no way they’ll come out with less than $142m.
And if this turns out true, it will be the highest grossing opening weekend since New Moon.
To make sure everyone is on the same page, here are the numbers for the previous openers:
Twilight, $69.6M in 2008
New Moon to $142.8M in 2009
Eclipse to $64.8M in 2010
We have our fingers crossed! We want them to succeed.
C’mon, even if you don’t like them, their success means Hollywood success all around! And cynical or not, EVERYONE enjoys cinematic escapism.
