Although Britney Spears was said to have rejected the $10 million she was offered to join the judges panel of the new season of X Factor — having wanted at least a $20 million payout — but now, we’ve gotten word that negotiations are still going on, as her salary does not seem to be an issue!
The pop icon is more concerned about ensuring that she has a one-year “out clause” should she not want to continue after this year!
A source explains:
“Money is not an issue for the show. As of now, they are looking to pay her $12 to $15 million for the first season, with a drastic price hike for a second year based on ratings performance. [Executive producer] Simon Cowell wants at least a two-year commitment, and Britney wants an out clause if she doesn’t want to continue after one year of service.”
Hey! That’s just smart business right there!
Especially given the way this show has gone through cast members in just one season!
And there’s no denying what a ratings draw our Brit Brit would be!
We really hope this happens! Gurl could get used to being in front of the camera again, while simultaneously showing everyone just what a good ear she has for music AND talent!
What about this situation ISN’T a complete win/win?!
