Brits See Their Braces As A Gold Mine

This is ironic.

Our friends across the pound have found a way to cash in on their newly straightened teeth.

With gold prices at about $1200 an ounce a British dentist says “patients have increasingly asked if they can keep their braces and convert them into small items of jewellery or get them melted down.”

In exchange for the braces they only get about $160 but it’s better than nothing.

But keep in mind not all braces are made out of the precious metal.

Gold-plated stainless steel braces are primarily used for patients who are allergic to nickel, we have a feeling lots of patients will now be saying they’re allergic to the metal for this reason!
