It turns out this split wasn’t as shocking as we all thought!
Britt Nilsson took to Instagram to address her breakup with The Bachelorette contestant Brady Toops. She shared a sweet snap of the former flames together, confirming in the caption that they were no longer together:
“Yes, it is true–@bradytoops and i are no longer together. We had a wonderful, sweet, and life-giving relationship that I appreciated, learned from, and thoroughly enjoyed.”
And they sort of had a secret split! The 27-year-old also revealed the two hadn’t been dating for a while before the news broke:
“We broke up a few months ago, after about two months of dating, but still remain very close friends. I couldn’t be more blessed by who he is as a person–I will forever respect and adore him.”
Aww! At least there’s no hard feelings!

Their love unfolded on this season of The Bachelorette, when Britt was competing with Kaitlyn Bristowe to be selected by the suitors as the show’s leading lady.
Brady left the show when Britt was rejected, to pursue a romantic relationship with the competition’s castoff. She added in the lengthy caption that the two still talk, and that she doesn’t regret the time they spent together:
“We communicate candidly & frequently and will remain in each others lives as great friends. It was always a beautiful, honest, and valuable relationship, and continues to be. I believe that everything happens for a reason and our relationship made us both stronger!”
