The 16-year-old, who dabbles in photographer, was given his first major assignment to shoot the new Burberry This is Brit fragrance campaign.
And it’s got a lot of professional photogs in a huff!
People have been commenting on various social media platforms about the unfairness of a teenager getting such a huge and lucrative gig when others have been hustling for years without any breaks.
Here are some examples:

“What qualifications in photography do you have @brooklynbeckham?”
“He has about 20k worth of kit and I guess a large team of assistance lighting tec’s etc professional models make up artists stylists what can go wrong. Also as much money as Burberry want to throw at him. They are selling him not his images. Brooklyn becomes the by product to sell the product.”
“Well, if your name is Beckham and you have no experience photographing a campaign for a major fashion brand (or photographing a campaign of any kind for that matter) and Burberry brings in all the hair, makeup, stylists, lighting techs, art directors, photo assistants, models, supply all the cameras and gear, set the camera for you and all he has to do is pick up the camera and point it at the model, then yes, technically you need zero qualifications to be successful. Just a good last name and 5.9M followers on Instagram.”
“Anyone who thinks he got this Burberry gig for any reason other than the fact he has 5.3M Instagram followers and the last name Beckham is delusional. Clever marketing, Burberry.”
“I just think that it’s sad and unfair how a 16-year-old with almost no experience can get I job that thousands of other people are working their asses of to get. I made a clumpsy choice of words in my earlier comment, I admit that. I just think this is so wrong. I guess it’s just the world we live in…”
“Wtf do you know about photography? “Mummy and daddy buy me the most expensive dslr systems money can buy and then get someone to photoshop all my mistakes”. Fucking joke to professional togs all over the world.”

But it wasn’t all bitterness. Plenty of people supported the young snapper:

“stop hating and support a brother! Brooklyn is doing really, really good, why all this hate? as a photographer myself, that would mean I “steal” jobs from other photographers as well? chill, and support the next generation! keep it up Brooklyn. ├░┼╕ΓÇÿ┼á├░┼╕┬Å┬╛”
“Nice work Brooklyn! Can’t wait to see your new work for Burberry! Dun worry about those haters…they are all having mid-life crises and they do this to talented young photographers all the time…”

On the one hand, of course it sucks to see a young kid accomplish what you’ve been working toward your whole life.
On the other hand, of course celeb kids would jump on whatever opportunities big-name brands afforded them.
It’s just one of life’s sad truths!
Would you take advantage of your parents’ connections if they were rich and famous, Perezcious readers???
