What #MeToo scrutiny? Bryan Singer is ready to make his big Hollywood comeback, whether you like it or not.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the X-Men: Apocalypse director is in talks to direct Millennium’s Red Sonja, despite recently facing lawsuits for alleged sexual misconduct and bad PR after he was fired for not showing up to set on the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Millennium hopes that the Red Sonja flick, which has been in development hell for over a decade, will be the start of a successful franchise that will tap into the same crowd that turned out for the super successful Wonder Woman. After all, the title hero has a kick ass story.

Based on the 1970s Conan the Barbarian comic book spinoff, the film will follow a female warrior getting revenge on the mercenaries who raped her and killed her family — so, naturally, the internet is pissed the project is being handed to an accused rapist as opposed to, say, a female director… or literally anyone else.
Source say Millennium will pay Singer “top dollar” to helm the project, which many are seeing as the first step on the road to his redemption that few-to-none believe he’s earned.
Singer is still toweling off from waves of #MeToo criticism after he was sued in December by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman, who accused the director of raping him when he was a 17-year-old boy in 2003. This wasn’t the first time Singer was hit with such an allegation, either.

Millennium is hoping Red Sonja will be fast tracked into production with Singer’s name attached to the project. But we’re not too sure about that, seeing as these days, Singer’s name is also attached to the term “pool party.”

over and above whether you believe the allegations against Bryan Singer (and I do), the dude just… stopped showing up to set. Who gets handed a potential franchise-starter less than a year after that?

yes because when making a movie about a female warrior who wants revenge on the dude(s) who raped her and murdered her family, there's only one name you can trust: Bryan Singer.
and also what in the actual fuck. https://t.co/WedbnrDid5

Bryan Singer repeatedly disappears from film sets during shooting and has a series of scandalous stories plaguing his entire reputation, but surely there aren't any great female filmmakers who could've directed RED SONJA so I guess it makes sense that he would get the gig

I am in favor of Bryan Singer directing Red Sonja if the Red Sonja movie is in fact an elaborate police sting operation to capture Bryan Singer.

Would YOU pay to watch a Bryan Singer-directed film after all this controversy?
