First off, if you’re not in the know, BTS is a Korean boy band with a HUGE international following.
Second, no, you aren’t learning the name BTS just to learn a new name in five seconds.

BTS’ name in Korean roughly translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts. The problem is Bulletproof Boy Scouts, besides sounding like a band whose CD you could buy at a Hot Topic in 2004, does not fit the acronym BTS in English.
So the boy-banders have taken on a new name to go along with their rising international profile — one that fits the letters:
Beyond The Scene.
The group announced the change to their name and logo in a new YouTube video (below).
(And if you didn’t believe us about that huge following, just check that view count!)
Fan reactions ranged from confusion to annoyance to acceptance. See just a few of the reactions (below):
Are you part of the BTS army? If so, what do YOU think of the name change??
