Bunnie Xo is telling the story of when she and Jelly Roll officially called it quits.
In her Dumb Blonde podcast where she fully addressed all the rumors surrounding her divorce, Bunnie shared the story of the final day she and Jelly spent together. And with the singer already confirming that everything she said in her pod was “true” at his recent concert, we can say this is actually what went down.
On Mother’s Day this year, per Bunnie, she and Jelly had an explosive fight. She said they’ve “never been really good” at disagreements, which she admitted is “a recipe for disaster”. And while she didn’t detail what actually went down in the argument or what caused it, she said she was “fed up and so tired” — and that’s when she told him they needed to split:
“I just looked at him and I said, ‘Well, file the f**king divorce papers’.”

She went on to say it was a “cardinal rule” in their relationship to never say that, but revealed Jelly had said it before:
“My husband has said it numerous times…. But when I say it, it really holds weight, because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”
After the argument, she said she “packed a bag and left.” She and Jelly didn’t communicate or see each other for weeks — until she got served papers:
“During that, he was so mad and we were so emotional that he ended up doing exactly what I told him to do and filing the divorce papers.”
And sadly, according to Bunnie, she wasn’t ready for a divorce:
“Was this divorce mutual? No. It was not mutual, even though I told him to file the divorce papers. I was speaking out of anger and just frustration. But was it necessary for us to have a wake-up call and for us to start having these real conversations? Absolutely.”
So heartbreaking! We’ve all said things we don’t mean in the midst of anger. And the fact all this started to go down on Mother’s Day, when Bunnie has been struggling really badly through her IVF journey… So sad.

Since the argument, though, things have calmed down. Both Bunnie and Jelly have expressed that they’re still best friends and have a lot of love for one another. They’re also going to still go through with having a baby together, and co-parenting them.
