Get well soon, Buzz!
Buzz Aldrin has reportedly fallen ill and had to be evacuated from the South Pole on Thursday, where he had been on a trip with a group of people he dubbed “Buzz’s Polar Penguins.”

The former astronaut and second man to step on the moon took ill during the journey, which he had documented several days ago on his social media account.
After he was flown to New Zealand for treatment, tourism group White Desert released this statement regarding Aldrin’s condition:
“The evacuation flight for Mr Buzz Aldrin has successfully landed at Christchurch, New Zealand and Mr Aldrin is being transferred to hospital for examination. He currently has fluid in his lungs but is responding well to antibiotics and being kept overnight for observation. His condition is stable and his manager, who is currently with him, described him being in good spirits.”
That’s so good to hear, and we hope he only keeps improving!
Knowing him, he’ll probably be back at the South Pole as soon as doctors give him the go-ahead!
