Sometimes, a relationship is just not meant to be — and Caitlyn Jenner’s need to be someone else apparently had very little to do with the downfall of her relationship with ex-wife Kris Jenner.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, the former Olympian reflected on the demise of her decades-long marriage, admitting that it was damaged beyond repair for reasons outside of her gender identity.

She told the publication on Sunday:
“When Kris and I separated, it wasn’t because of trans issues. It was for a million other reasons. Kris and I had a great relationship for a long time. We built an amazing family, but circumstances and people change. And I think the hardest thing is to be able to make those changes together and still be as strong.”
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for the Jenners.
The I Am Cait star continued:
“Our relationship didn’t work anymore and we mutually decided that it was time to split up. There was no animosity.”
Um… “no animosity”? We wonder if Kris would agree with that…
The 70-year-old was married to the KUWTK matriarch for 22 years before announcing their separation in October 2013. The momager filed for divorce the following September, which was also the year Cait transitioned.
Reflecting on her late-in-life transition, the trans icon said:
“I took a long time to figure it out, which is fine. I have no regrets about playing Bruce for 65 years. He was a good guy — he did a lot of amazing things and raised a wonderful family.”
Cait’s not doing too bad either!
