We’re almost there!!
In February, the Ninth Circuit ruled that Californian Prop 8 was unconstitutional. So supporters of the gay-marriage-banning bill sought to have a larger panel of judges rehear their arguments.
But it’s official. They’re just not havin’ it. The Ninth Circuit has declined to rehear arguments over the statewide ban on gay marriage.
That being said, the case is gearing up for it’s trip to the Supreme Court, where the final gavel could bang equality once and for all!!!
If the Court decides the case is worth hearing, a decision will come by June 2013. If not, gay marriage could once again be legal for the golden state as early as October!!!
And with polls showing 47% of Americans supporting gay marriage versus 43% who oppose it, we’re feeling EXTRA optimistic on this one!!
LOVE AND EQUALITY WILL RULE SUPREME!!! Ha! 😉
