Camila Cabello Seen Performing In Nearly EMPTY Arena! What Happened??

Camila Cabello played to a nearly empty venue on Sunday down in Atlanta, Georgia — and while some fans are calling her out and making fun of her online for it, other unexpected allies are rushing to her defense!

So, the former Fifth Harmony member was supposed to play a show at an arena in the Peach State on Sunday night. That’s a pretty common occurrence for the 27-year-old, who tours around the country often. But this time around, something went VERY wrong with ticket sales. Because hardly anybody showed up!!

Objectively speaking, based on pictures and videos from the show that found their way over onto X (Twitter) over the last few days, the arena is VERY sparsely filled out! See for yourself (below):

Ouch!!

Immediately, social media users hopped into the comments to debate on whether the lack of fans was justified, or sad, or… if there was something else entirely going on. Some people even defended Camila from the hatred!

As you can see (below), there were all kinds of takes on the empty concert venue:

“true question why do some singers do this? if you know u cant sell arenas why do them? isnt it just extra costs for no reason and embarrassment?”

“most artists would’ve cancelled their appearance for unknown reasons but she continued and like her or not that is a REAL ARTIST”

“guys thats sad dont be mean”

“HELPP was it really that bad”

“tankila tankello”

“i love her music this makes me saddd”

“i feel so bad omgggg”

“A real performer … loves her audience no matter the number.”

“She’s in it for the long run y’all don’t get it.”

“She still outlasted Normani tho lmao”

That last one… OMG…

Amazingly, one well-known celebrity popped up in defense of Shawn Mendes‘ former flame: Mod Sun. Yes, really! Early on Tuesday morning, the 37-year-old rapper tweeted this about the not-so-sold-out show:

“99% percent of artists would’ve cancelled the show + put out a ‘mental health’ statement. She just gained my respect by still performing. That show meant the world to the people in the crowd that night. EMPTY SHOWS ARE STILL SHOWS.”

He ain’t wrong!

FWIW, an insider told Page Six that Cabello was NOT performing at one of her own concerts or shows. Instead, she was performing at “a corporate event,” and “only a few tickets [were] sold to the public.” Per that outlet, Camila headlined the mostly-private event, while Myles Smith and Knox opened the show.

Also, on Monday — so, just a few hours after pictures from the sparsely attended show hit social media — Camila popped up on her Instagram account to share this eye-catching message of appreciation for her fans:

“The people who I’ve chosen to be a fan of, since I was 12 to now, from musicians to authors to painters, have made me who I am / Being a fan is a transformative and creative and sacred endeavor / And the artist who gives to their community also gets, in the form of love, inspiration, and trust. I’m honored to be that for you / It’s one of the sweetest relationships I’ve known / I have fans that have been more loving, loyal, and ride or die then people in my real life. Make no mistake, regardless of distance and time apart and proximity the love in that room, the love between us, is very real. I feel it too. I hold it close to my heart like a little light on a dark night / Yesterday, today, and tomorrow”

Hmmm…
