Can’t call Cardi B an unfocused parent — if anything, the opposite is true!!
The rapper was recently named People en Espanol‘s 2018 Star of the Year, and in the accompanying cover story and interview for the mag, she gets real about her role as mother to Kulture Kiari!

The I Like It rapper — who quickly canceled a planned tour with Bruno Mars after first welcoming Kulture back in July — had this to say about making sure she’s always in her baby’s life:
“I don’t want to miss nothing from my baby. I read that babies forget people so quick; I don’t want her to forget me. I don’t want her thinking that somebody else is her mom; I want her to love me as her mom. I want to be the one that when she cries, I’m the one that stops her from crying. Seriously, being a week away, it would just drive me insane.”
Fortunately, it sounds like Cardi has a really solid support system in place to help her out with babysitting when work and her superstar lifestyle does get in the way, though (below):
“[When she’s] with my grandmother or with my mother, I balance it out because everybody gets tired. I don’t like going to sleep and leaving them with the responsibility of my baby because I know they just as tired as me. Same way I wanna sleep, they wanna sleep.”
True! Very true!!

It all clearly centers around her daughter, though — after all, this is the reason Cardi keeps pushing so hard with her music even despite seemingly endless, ongoing drama in the biz:
“When you’re famous, so many things are being thrown at you: so many gossips, so many problems, so many beefs, so much money, so much of everything, it just kind of drives you crazy. And then when I see my daughter, it’s like a piece of mind. ‘Ahh, I do this because of you.’ It cracks a smile on the most stressful days.”
Awwww! Too cute!!
BTW, you hear that, Nicki Minaj?!?! Yeah…
