Cardi B is kicking off her maternity leave.
On Wednesday, the Bodak Yellow rapper took to Instagram to announce that she’s canceling several upcoming gigs in order to focus on her pregnancy. The Bronx native, who is expecting her first child with fianc├â┬⌐ Offset, revealed that this weekend’s Broccoli Fest in Washington, D.C. will be her last performance “for a little while.”

This is totally understandable. We mean, the chart topper IS growing a human after all.
Not to mention, per Cardi’s video, it seems she’s struggling to balance her work commitments while being heavily pregnant. Yes, she slayed it at Coachella, but her baby bump is affecting her breathing. She continued:
“Because you know, shorty keep growing and I be looking like I be moving and everything, but in reality, a bitch can barely breathe.”
Hey, if Beyoncé can postpone her Coachella gig, Cardi can cancel a few shows!! Later on in the video, the Bartier Cardi artist quipped:
“I can barely breathe right now. I’ve ate like six chicken wings, and I can barely breathe now.”

Oof. While this is clearly the right call for Cardi, we imagine her fans are SORELY disappointed right now. In case you forgot, the pregnant 25-year-old was slated to appear at a number of music festivals this summer, including the JMBLYA Festival and the Panorama Festival.
It’ll be inneresting to see if, once the baby arrives, Cardi stays committed to going on the road with Bruno Mars. Earlier this month, the It-girl informed Jimmy Fallon that she plans to take her little with her when she joins Mars’ 24K Magic Tour this September.
At the end of the day, we just want Cardi to put her health first!!
