They want publicity for their new burger?
Well, they got it!
Carl’s Jr. has been in the news recently over a commercial they plan to air during the Super Bowl but will mostly appear only on televisions on the West Coast.
The commercial entitled Au Naturel is for their new all natural burger, and they enlisted a model named Charlotte McKinney. Oh, and she appears to be totally naked walking through a farmers market.
We guess since they claim their burger has no added hormones, steroids or antibiotics this seemed like an appropriate idea!

And while the end of the commercial reveals that the model was in fact NOT naked, it still has caused a lot of people to wonder how appropriate this ad is for an all family event!
Chief marketing officer Brad Haley admits the spot toes the line, but does not cross it! He said:
“We don’t show things in our ads that you won’t see at the beach on any given warm, weekend. We don’t cross the line — but we like to get right to the line.”
However branding consultant Erika Napoletano does not exactly agree! She said:
“It’s like porn meets American Pastime. It makes NFL cheerleaders — underpaid and underclothed — look like nuns in comparison. [Charlotte McKinney] doesn’t look like any women I know. This is all about the cheap, visual joke.”
They both have valid points, but the commercial seems pretty tame compared to other things we’ve seen on television.
However, we’re sure not everyone will see it that way, but luckily we have the commercial for you here so you can decide for yourself what you think!
