Reportedly so, but off-Broadway to be more accurate
Sources are claiming that Stephen King’s bloody brilliant tale of Carrie is in the works for another adaptation. This time, the flick is getting a Broadway reboot, after failing miserably on the Great White Way back in the 80s.
New York’s MCC Theatre is said to be the mastermind behind this retool of the failed musical, rearranging the story for a more modern audiences by cutting some of the “campy songs” and giving more heart to the characters, like Carrie’s mother.
Horrible idea. It it lasts the 21 performances of it’s predecessor, we’ll be shocked!
Carrie is only meant to be enjoyed on the pages of Stephen’s book or huge screens where you can see ever spec of blood on Sissy Spacek’s head!
