When Cate Blanchett stepped on to the red carpet at the Oscars this year in a lilac Givenchy Haute Couture gown people either loved it or hated it.
But for those that thought the latter, Cate could care less.
She told InStyle:
“If people get it, they get it. If they don├óΓé¼Γäót, then it doesn├óΓé¼Γäót matter. There are so few houses that can afford to do couture, and since the red carpet is such a wonderful showcase, we should be celebrating that.”
Good point!
As for her favorite part of the dress, the Aussie gushed:
“The color combination, I couldn├óΓé¼Γäót believe it when I saw it in real life. I was tempted to wear it two ways, because if you take the top part off, it├óΓé¼Γäós a really simple halter dress underneath. I thought the external piece was so unusual.”
We agree, but in the best way possible.
