According to The Disinsider, the House of Mouse has been discussing making a live-action version of the classic story for the past two years, and has already courted Mary Poppins Returns director Rob Marshall to helm the project.

It’s unclear when the movie will be made, but the studio apparently has its sights on a big, newly-born movie star to portray everyone’s favorite sea witch.

The outlet notes that Disney reps declined to comment on the rumor, so we’ll take it with a grain of sea salt.

Thanks to her acclaimed performance in A Star Is Born, GaGa’s the hottest new actress in town. It was rumored she was also offered a role in Warner BrosBirds Of Prey alongside Margot Robbie, but she reportedly turned it down.

We can’t think of anyone better suited to play live-action Ursula.

O’Donnell reportedly told the news to an audience at The Paramount Theater in Huntington, New York while on tour opening for Randy Rainbow.

All we know so far is that GaGa will supposedly play Fanny Brice, a role made famous by Barbara Streisand, while O’Donnell will be playing the mother.

This marks the second time the starlet would be playing a Streisand role.
