In Central Park Zoo, during the calm before Hurricane Irene, Truffle gave birth to a beautiful baby.
The baby lamb (pictured above), who was named Irene Hope, came out as a healthy, 8lb miracle.
According to Assistant Curator Susan Cardillo, baby lambs aren’t usually born this time of year:
We don’t expect a baby in late August. This is very unusual.
