Chanel Sends Models Down The Runway For First-Ever Fashion Show In Cuba

Well, this is interesting. Chanel just made history on Tuesday by being the first ever fashion label to hold a show in the streets of Cuba.
The Cruise 2017 runway was held down the Prado promenade in Havana, with the likes of Gisele B├â┬╝ndchen, Anna Wintour, Tilda Swinton, Vin Diesel, and even Fidel Castro‘s son, Tony, sitting front row.

Kind of an interesting group, which might be part of the reason why the show was so controversial.
Despite President Obama‘s visit to Cuba only a couple months ago and even the Communist-ruled nation’s president Raul Castro‘s February visit to France, the location seemingly wasn’t such a hit for everyone. And considering it’s been reported the monthly wage in Cuba isn’t even at $30/month, the lavish event only highlighted the stark contrast of the classes. Sigh.
But that didn’t stop Karl Lagerfeld and the Chanel crew from taking over the streets!
Take a peek at some of the day’s festivities (below):

And surprisingly, even Vogue’s editor-in-chief was getting into the spirit, rocking a crop top in Cuba!

So, what are UR thoughts on Chanel’s show???
Also, would U want to see more fashion shows in Cuba?
