TikTok Stars Charli D'Amelio & Lil Huddy Announce Breakup

The reigning queen and king of TikTok have parted ways.

Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson AKA Lil Huddy, 17, have called it quits just two months after going public with their romance, they announced on Tuesday.

Each half of the now-former power couple shared the news on their respective Instagram Stories with statements. 15-year-old Charli wrote:

“Since you guys have watched mine and Chase’s relationship from the start, I decided I needed to tell you all that we are no longer together. It hurts me to say this, but we’ve decided that this is what’s best for both of us. We are still close friends and I would not change that for anything! I truly have so much love for Chase and wish him nothing but the best for him. It makes me happy to see all of the great things he has going for him.”

The most followed user on the popular app added:

“I’m sorry I waited so long to tell you all. I wanted to take the time to process it for myself. Breakups are tough for anyone, so I’d really rather not talk about it anymore.”

Hudson wrote his own message about the split on his Story, along with a photo of his ex:

“Charli and I wanted to share with you that while we will always have love for each other, we are no longer together. Charli is such an amazing person and I am so beyond grateful and blessed to have spent the time I spent with her. We will always be friends and she will always hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life. We are sorry it’s taken so long to come forward, but this was something we wanted to process privately first. It has been incredibly hard for both of us so please respect our privacy as we both start this new chapter.”

The pair frequently collaborated for videos on the app which have garnered millions of views each.

Both D’Amelio and Hudson are members of the Hype House, a content space based in Los Angeles where TikTokers live. The two claim to remain “close friends” despite the split, but it’s unclear what it will look like moving forward since they are also co-workers and part-time roomies.

Their breakup isn’t entirely surprising, however. Recently, Josh Richards, a member of Sway House (a rival content house), claimed via diss track that Lil Huddy sent his GF Nessa Barrett explicit photos and DMs. He was unbothered by the news, tweeting at the time:
