This must not be easy to admit, given his tragic passing, but we think it won’t be surprising to many.
Cher recently revealed during an interview that her eleven year marriage to Sonny Bono was a difficult one, and she now believes that the two should have never even gotten together in the first place!
She explains:
“He didn’t want me to grow up or have any freedom. I wasn’t allowed to do anything except work. We worked more than we lived. [Plus], stardom made Sonny a huge womanizer. One woman, or even five, was not enough for him. I found all this out afterwards. I asked him, ‘How did you manage the logistics?’ I was trusting and faithful with him. The truth is, I’m not so sure we should’ve ever been husband and wife.”
So sad.
We’re sure that coming to terms with the reality of their relationship must have been a long process, thrown in with the confusion of feelings and grief now that he’s no longer with us, so we commend Cher for once again being so candid about her personal life!
But what’s done is done, bb! No reason to look back on regret – especially when you’ve come so far!
