Chicago Coffee Guru Crushed To Death By His Own Brewing Machine At Charity Event

Chicago coffee expert Jim Karr died this weekend when he was crushed by his very own brewing machine at a charity event.
The 48-year-old was attempting to pack up his commercial-grade coffee maker after the Bike The Drive event on Sunday when he lost his balance and was killed by the one of the things he loved most in the world.
An autopsy revealed serious injuries to both his head and his chest.
Jim was the founder of SteamVolt and was well known in the coffee community for his innovative roasting techniques. Baristas from around the country sent out messages of love, describing him as a “legend” and an “inspiration.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
