Belfast Zoo Gets First Chimp Birth In FIFTEEN Years!

The (Northern) Irish eyes were smiling at the Belfast Zoo on St. Patty’s Day!
Lucy was welcomed to the world on March 17, and every chimp in the exhibit is happy for Lucy and her parents, Lizzie and Andy.
Since humans and chimpanzees share 98 percent of the same DNA, it is also uhMAZing to watch them in action.
Plus, aren’t they just GORGEOUS?!?!?!
Belfast Zoo is also marking the birth as a special occasion…it’s the first birth they’ve had in 15 years!
Chimps are dangerously close to becoming extinct in the wild, so a birth like this is DEFINITELY good news.
