We all need to just take a deep breath and read the fine print!
Here’s the sitch:
Over the weekend, the news spread that Chord Overstreet won’t be back on Glee this coming season. People were outraged! There was looting in the street, babies crying and death threats to the powers that be over at McKinley High.
Okay, so really only one of those things actually happened, but we can all settle down now. Chord’s actually not leaving the show – not unless he wants to. The deal is, Chord has been invited to come back to the series, just not as a series regular. He’s being asked back as a recurring character, much like he was last year, much like Harry Shum Jr. was for the past two seasons until he was bumped up to series regular. Two years! He put in his dues, so now it seems its Chord’s turn.
A reliable source from the show explains that the writers “have plans to write for him” and are really hoping he will sign on and start filming with the cast come August. But the decision to return is entirely up to him!
And if he doesn’t, he’s crayzay!!! This opportunity put him on the map and quite frankly, he’s one of the ONLY ones in the cast that could make it on the show past this season. Pretty sure Ryan Murphy said that Sam was only a sophomore. That gives him one more year than the rest of the gang … and guarantee he’ll be a a series regular then!!
