Chris Harrison Clarifies Bachelor Contestant Kelley Flanagan's Claim She Was 'Locked In A Closet' Away From Peter Weber!

Chris Harrison reaches out to Kelley Flanagan over that 'locked in closet' comment about The Bachelor!

Chris Harrison wants to make sure his beloved reality TV empire isn’t literally locking people in closets…

The longtime TV host and mainstay on The Bachelor and all of its spin-off series called up recent contestant and Peter Weber quarantine pal, Kelley Flanagan, this week to get clarification over some of her recent comments about the show.

In case you’ve been living under a rock recently — in which case, good, because that means you’ve been social distancing properly! — you might have missed Flanagan’s headline-making claim earlier this week that producers “manipulated” pilot Pete on the show and kept her “locked up in a closet for three hours” away from him.

As it turns out, Harrison himself wanted the low-down on what exactly the Chicago native meant, telling ET about the convo:

“I said, ‘What was that? We don’t lock people in closets, so clearly you weren’t locked in a closet for three hours. What did you mean?'”

Straight and to the point!

Flanagan laughed it off, apparently, telling the host her comments about being “locked up” were taken “a little bit out of context,” and she was only using the phrase as a reference point to mean she’d been limited in her interactions with Peter, and was frustrated by it.

Peter Weber's family made his final decision a tough one!

According to Harrison, the back-and-forth played out like this, with him clarifying how the “closet” moment actually came out of a long interview Flanagan had one day on the show with producers:

“What she meant by that was she was frustrated. She’s a smart girl who I think is used to getting what she wants, and she didn’t get that time with Peter. You’re not in a closet. It’s in a room, and sometimes it takes hours. It depends on what’s going on at the time… I think Kelley was frustrated at the time, and that’s how she articulated that. But she told me, ‘That was not what I meant to say.’ She’s like, ‘I’m so sorry that it came out that I was locked in a closet.’ So everybody, it’s OK. Kelly was not locked in a closet, she’s safe and she’s good, and she apologized and I laughed it off. I was like, ‘I get it, I knew what you were trying to say.'”

Well then! Glad we got all that squared away… TV takes a lot of time to make, after all. Interviews, close-ups, re-interviews, and production delays… we can imagine the frustration! Of course, with quarantine conditions going down all over the country, it feels like we’re all stuck in a closet for hours (days, weeks, months) on end now, too.

Soooo maybe Kelley was just ahead of her time on this one? LOLz!!!
