THIS IS BULLSHIZZ!
Chris Kluwe is one of the most high-profile athlete supporters of the LGBT community, and it looks like he’s being replaced by a 5th round pick as kicker on the Minnesota Vikings because of it! UGH!
He was part of that team for EIGHT YEARS, and we agree with him that it has something to do with his work for equality — even as a straight married man with kids! He was most recently fighting legislation in Minnesota that would have banned same-sex marriage when he gained a bunch of notoriety for a profanity-lace letter he wrote to Maryland Assembly Delegate Emmett C. Burns that went viral.
Here’s what he said about his cut and the bullshizz that it means:
‘It├óΓé¼Γäós a shame that in a league with players given multiple second chances after arrests, including felony arrests, that speaking out on human rights has a chance of getting you cut.’
ABSOLUTELY!
We can’t STAND how often players get second chances for doing awful things, but when one tries to do a good thing he loses his job! It makes no sense!
Obvs the Vikings aren’t even touching the real reason with their response:
‘[Kluwe] contributed to many victories and we wish Chris and his family the best and thank him for his contributions to the Vikings organization. Out of respect to Chris, we decided to release him now and allow time for him to sign with another team.’
Yeah, out of respect. BOO, THE VIKINGS ARE AWFUL.
We’re so upset about this that we can’t even think straight! It’s SO offensive to us that supporting equality would result in a job loss!
