Chris Pratt is quickly becoming one of the biggest movie stars on the planet.
As the lead of the two biggest surprise smashes of the year, The LEGO Movie and Guardians Of The Galaxy, it probably seems like Chris was suddenly chosen for stardom.
But he wants you to know it’s not like he didn’t work for it! He says:
“I do believe in destiny. I’m lucky. But I didn├óΓé¼Γäót walk into 7-Eleven, buy a scratch ticket, scratch it off, and star in Guardians of the Galaxy.”
In fact, getting the job on Guardians was one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do, cutting out beer and “fun” for over six months to get into sexy superhero shape!
But there was no way he wasn’t going to do his darndest after what happened when he auditioned for G.I. Joe! He says:
“When Guardians of the Galaxy was pitched to me, I said, ‘I don├óΓé¼Γäót think so.’ I just didn├óΓé¼Γäót picture myself getting the role. I didn’t want to go and embarrass myself like I did when I auditioned for G.I. Joe a couple of years previously. I went in there, and halfway through I saw the director’s eyes just glaze over.
It made sense├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥I was a little heavy and out of shape. I was not gonna play someone from G.I. Joe. I did not look like a G.I. Joe action figure come to life.”
Well, he certainly looks like an action figure now! Maybe more He-Man than G.I. Joe even!
