Chrissy Teigen is opening up about the REALLY unexpected journey to baby number three!
The Cravings author surprised us all with the cutest pregnancy reveal in the music video for husband John Legend‘s single Wild on Thursday. Just one day later, she took to Twitter on Friday night to share exactly how the couple learned they were going to be parents again and to quote the sassy social media queen herself, it’s “quite a story” that all began with her boobs!

Teigen approached the topic after a fan said they were “confused” by the timeline of her breast implant removal surgery and the baby news. In a series of tweets, she explained:
“Oh, it’s quite a story. Lol. I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative. A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I’ve taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before.”
The Lip Sync Battle host explained that she took a pregnancy test on June 19 — the same day her husband released his latest studio album, Bigger Love. Chrissy was shocked and “scared shitless” to see the positive results because she “was pretty positive you shouldn’t get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure.” Wow, how crazy to find out like that!!

The 34-year-old, who previously conceived daughter Luna Stephens and son Miles Stephens through in-vitro fertilization, admitted she was not very hopeful about the pregnancy at first because of previous struggles to conceive:
“So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just felt … bad.”
Teigen continued:
“But what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you. In summary, my boobs hurt.”

Damn, that is quite a story! We’re so thankful to hear things went smoothly during her surgery and the baby ended up being okay. But even still, the Sports Illustrated model went on to share that she’s “very worried” despite the good news. She continued replying to fans:
“Part of me misses the safety of my perfect embryos, created in their little dish. They felt untouchable and safe. Now I feel a bit…eggshelly.”
“IVF was an amazing choice for us to be able to make. So hard, but we got two beautiful monsters out of it. I promise you, I never ever ever ever ever thought I could.”
Chrissy also shared how her two kids feel about becoming a big brother and sister:
“Luna is very, very excited. Miles, not so much. Jealous!”
