Let the mudslinging begin!
Christian Louboutin launched a verbal attack against Yves Saint Laurent in France’s Lib├â┬⌐ration newspaper last month and he didn’t hold back.
In the article titled “Pinault doesn├óΓé¼Γäót care about plagiarizing my red sole”, Louboutin believes the fashion house’s parent company PPR is being hypocritical:
“I find it most incredible that a group like PPR would take the risk of defending itself as a plagiarist. They claim to fight against counterfeiting and plagiarism of which they are victims and yet behave like this.”
YSL’s legal eagles were quick to fire back at Louboutin’s claims, saying:
“YSL’s use of red outsoles is not plagiarism of anyone else├óΓé¼Γäós design. YSL is one of the most celebrated and original fashion houses in the world, and it has been using red outsoles to give life to its own venerated style traditions since long before Louboutin was even designing shoes.”
The case went to an appeals judge last month and Louboutin expects a ruling by the summer.
