Kelly Rutherford‘s public fight for custody of her children has garnered the support of supermodel Christie Brinkley.
The 61-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to show support and raise awareness for her pal’s “frustrating, maddening, and tragic” legal battle.

As we reported, Rutherford gave Vanity Fair an inside look at her tireless effort to get her children Hermes, 8, and Helena, 6, back on American soil after divorcing ex, German businessman Daniel Giersch.
The 46-year-old will face her ex-husband at an October 26 hearing in hopes of having the kids return from Monaco and France, where they’ve had to legally live since 2012.
Brinkley, who fought her ex Peter Cook for custody of their children, publicly professed her support for Miz Rutherford with the passionate message:
“I’m using this fun picture to catch your attention to a serious issue that every good parent needs to be aware of . The problem with our broken family / divorce court system and how the person with the slickest lawyer can wreak havoc on our children, their lives, and their future ..in this months Vanity Fair there is a great article on what Kelly Rutherford and her children have been subjected to by what appears to be trademark actions by an extreme narcissist and his high paid lawyers . It’s nice to see the Melrose Place star receiving some encouragement from fellow Hollywood A-listers.
