This is simply devastating.
Christina Milian‘s sister Danielle gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday, but she and husband Richard Dickerson had to say sad goodbyes far too soon.
Only hours after welcoming baby Richie into the world, the newborn tragically lost his life due to Omphalocele — a birth defect that caused his organs to grow on the outside of his body while in the womb.
Danielle mourned the loss of her baby on Instagram, sharing a black-and-white photo of a tiny handprint on her heart. She captioned the sad snap:
“Yesterday I was blessed with the birth of my Richie Bear. Unfortunately, last night he took his place with the Lord and we said goodbye. I so appreciate the prayers and support from everyone. He touched my heart and was perfect in so many ways.”

Christina also used the photo-sharing site to upload a touching tribute to her late nephew. She posted a picture of the little one’s tiny bandaged foot, and commended her sister and brother-in-law for their bravery:
“The last 24 hours have been an emotional roller coaster but i’d like to thank everyone for being so supportive throughout my sister Danielle & Richards pregnancy. The both of them have shown the true measure of courage and faith for the last 9 months and I can’t praise them more.”
She continued by grieving the untimely loss of the little one:
“Our family was blessed to have met our little Angel Baby Richie. We were fighting for him and with him the whole way and are now coping with the direction in which fate took. I ask that you keep him and our entire family in your prayers– Especially Danielle, Richard, Naomi & Dj and know that we’ve all been touched by our little Guardian Angel. His memory will forever live on in our thoughts and our hearts. May he now resting in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father . ├░┼╕ΓÇÖΓäó stay blessed.”
