Talk about defying age!
Christy Turlington graces the cover of DuJour magazine’s debut issue and she looks absolutely stunning!
Shot on a rainy day at the at Stony Hill Stables in Amagansett, New York, the supermodel shows off her modeling and riding skills for Bruce Weber‘s camera.
Inside, Christy talks about life as a mom, her newest philanthropic initiatives, like Every Mother Counts, and continuing to work in “the biz”.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On starting EMC:
“I started doing this work after I gave birth to Grace├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥that├óΓé¼Γäós very, very clearly why I├óΓé¼Γäóm doing this. But I├óΓé¼Γäóm also the mother of a son. It├óΓé¼Γäós important to teach him to be aware of women├óΓé¼Γäós issues and to be kind and respectful.”
On being a part of the ‘Big 5’ models:
“We shared experiences, but apart from working together we were all so different. We came from different family backgrounds, different countries, different everything. But people would call me Cindy [Crawford] or Helena [Christensen] . . . we were all kind of one thing.”
On her early modeling days:
“The biggest draw of modeling was getting out and seeing the world. Nobody was with their moms. But I wasn├óΓé¼Γäót in a hurry to be older. I would go to shoot the collections in Paris or Rome, and I would be buying porcelain dolls.”
On aging:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós been interesting to be in a profession where there├óΓé¼Γäós all this projection around beauty and youth, and people assume that you care├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and I feel like I├óΓé¼Γäóm not playing the game. I├óΓé¼Γäóve always liked myself more every year in terms of who I am and the person I├óΓé¼Γäóve become. I can├óΓé¼Γäót imagine denying everything that comes with that.”
Not only is Christy still gorgeous, but she’s incredibly wise! And she only works for 20 days out of the year! What a life!
