Clint Eastwood has broken his silence for the first time since delivering that really awkward speech at the Republican National Convention. And guess what? He’s not sorry he did!
The 82-year-old Hollywood icon is sticking to his guns and partisanship by concluding that the people who were puzzled by his ramblings ├óΓé¼┼ôare obviously on the left.”
Because surely, that’s the only explanation. It couldn’t have been the fact that he randomly decided to develop Benjamin Button disease and invited an invisible friend to the podium with him, right? LOLz!
No matter how you felt about his entertaining approach to bashing Barack Obama, he told his hometown newspaper he just wanted to get three points across to the American public and explained:
“I had three points I wanted to make. That not everybody in Hollywood is on the left, that Obama has broken a lot of the promises he made when he took office, and that the people should feel free to get rid of any politician who’s not doing a good job. But I didn’t make up my mind exactly what I was going to say until I said it.”
That’s right. He wasn’t stumbling over his words because he forgot to wear his contacts, he was straight up freestylin’ and noted:
├óΓé¼┼ôThey vett most of the people, but I told them, ├óΓé¼╦£You can├óΓé¼Γäót do that with me, because I don├óΓé¼Γäót know what I├óΓé¼Γäóm going to say.'”
The Trouble With The Curve star came up with the controversial chair gimmick MINUTES before he was scheduled to take the stage, continuing:
├óΓé¼┼ôThere was a stool there, and some fella kept asking me if I wanted to sit down. When I saw the stool sitting there, it gave me the idea. I├óΓé¼Γäóll just put the stool out there and I├óΓé¼Γäóll talk to Mr. Obama and ask him why he didn├óΓé¼Γäót keep all of the promises he made to everybody … The guy said, ├óΓé¼╦£You mean you want it at the podium?├óΓé¼Γäó and I said, ├óΓé¼╦£No, just put it right there next to it.├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼┬¥
Ultimately, we think the chair was more of a distraction than an accessory that complimented his words, but here’s his message loud and clear:
“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people. Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”
So do us a favor and if U are in “the middle,” let us know (below) if his tactic worked!
