Talk about awkward!
Running into an ex is never fun — but being seated next to them on a plane is even worse! That is exactly what happened to exes Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid.
Unfortunately for the pop singer, he was planning to hit on his seat mate until he realized who she was. Whomp, whomp.

In a recent interview, the 18-year-old shared:
“I’m sitting there, I see this blonde hair I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, let’s do it!’ She was like reading a book or something on her phone, she had her head [down] so you can’t tell [who it is] and because the seat was like that you only see blonde hair and I’m like ‘yes!’ and then she looks up and I’m like├óΓé¼┬ª”
LOLz! That is too much.
We would’ve died, but the La Da Dee performer seems to have laughed it off.
He continued:
“I look at her and I just start cracking up, like and everyone’s looking at me, I start cracking up and she’s looking at me like ‘What are you doing?’ I’m like [‘This is my seat’] and she [shakes her head].”
To some this may sound like the opening of a rom-com, but the blonde model is currently linked to Joe Jonas.
Nonetheless, it seems the former flames may be spending some time together while they are both down under. Ironically, the duo initially split after two years of dating back in May because of their hectic work schedules.
On Tuesday, Cody teased:
“We’ll probably catch up while we’re in town, it’s super amicable, she’s a great chick.”
The Australia native landed in his home country/continent just three days before Gig for a series of shows. Miz Hadid traveled to Australia to launch the Guess Spring 2015 collection.
Hmm, very inneresting. We wonder how the former Jonas Brother will handle his GF hanging with her previous beau?
Though the happy couple often hangs with Joe’s ex Taylor Swift — so perhaps it’s all kosher?! We guess only time will tell.
