Colton Underwood Speaks Out About Peter Weber's Season On The Bachelor: 'I Do Feel Very Sorry For Pete'

Colton Underwood speaks out about Peter Weber's season on The Bachelor... and it ain't good...

Colton Underwood wasn’t very impressed with season 24 of The Bachelor, and it sounds like there’s plenty of blame to go across the spectrum, at least according to this former contestant.

As you’ll recall, the 28-year-old Underwood knows a thing or two about what he’s speaking on here, considering he was the show’s leading man on his own season prior to Peter Weber‘s run on the reality TV mainstay. But to hear Colton tell it, things took a left turn this season… and something was missing from the show itself.

On Friday afternoon, a fan reached out to the former NFL star via Instagram, asking for his thoughts on the 28-year-old pilot’s tumultuous run on the longtime ABC series. Thankfully for us, Underwood didn’t hold back in his analysis of the show, either, responding in turn (below):

“Since I was silenced this season and opted to not watch it, I can’t go into detail. What I can say is I feel like it was way overproduced and both parties could have done a much better job (Peter and production). Peter could have stood up for himself and put his foot down when the TV show part of things started to control his relationships. Production could have helped guide him better. I spoke about how at some points you have to use your gut and trust them in my book with examples. I do feel very sorry for Pete.”

Yikes!!!

For a show that typically does so well to keep its alums happy — and well-connected with the show’s current stars, at least with seasons from the recent past — it sure is a turn to hear Colton openly critical of everyone involved here. That should probably tell us something, too, about there being more to the story than what the one-time reality TV virgin can divulge since he “can’t go into detail.”

But is Colton right, y’all? Do YOU feel sorry for Pete in this same way?! We’ve heard from lots of you that this season felt over-produced… will that be the new norm on The Bachelor, or does the show need to take a major step back and get back to first principles again??

Drama, drama, drama!

As we’ve been reporting, there’s been no shortage of high-stakes drama here between Peter, Hannah Ann Sluss, and Madison Prewett with the final rose ceremony a s**t show of epic proportions. Prewett left the set ahead of the final rose, of course, leaving Peter to propose to Hannah Ann — only for the two of them to break things off a month later when the pilot admitted he still had feelings for Prewett.

Then, just two days after Weber and the Alabama native reunited to give their romance a second chance, word came down that they had split up again — this time, for good. In between all this, of course, was the brutal After the Final Rose episode of the show, too, where Peter’s mom wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy with Madison.

So, yeah, looking back on all that craziness, we know exactly what Colton means, ya know?! Jeez!!! What a crazy year, indeed…
