Cosmo Gets DRAGGED For Being Tone Deaf After Implying Cancer Can Be A Diet Tool

cosmo tweet cancer story
Cosmopolitan should’ve known better!
Earlier this week, the women’s magazine faced major backlash after they ran a story that suggested cancer would be an effective diet strategy. We’re sorry, WHAT??

Apparently, Cosmo‘s Twitter page sent out a post which had the headline How This Woman Lost 44 Pounds Without Any Exercise. However, the content of the article explained that Simone Harbinson was unable to exercise because of the several medical treatments she had for a kidney infection, a “malignant carcinoid tumor of the appendix,” and a damaged disc in her spine.
Obviously, readers were livid by the frivolous angle the mag took on Miz Harbinson’s serious health issues. Be sure to take a look at the best clap backs for yourself (below).

Thankfully, the publication has since deleted their insensitive tweet and revised the article to feature a more appropriate headline. The piece is now titled, A Serious Health Scare Helped Me Love My Body More Than Ever. MUCH BETTER!
Not to mention, Cosmo also removed the following flippant line from the piece:

“Simone’s weight loss success is proof that ANYONE can lose weight without breaking a sweat simply by eating more mindfully ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ no gym required.”

Who edited this article and thought it was ready to be published? Man, oh man.
Hopefully, the magazine can bounce back from this scandal…
