Courtney Stodden would like to see Jason Alexander do more than just apologize.
This week, Courtney called out the Seinfeld star for a 2012 sketch she and her then-husband Doug Hutchinson did with Jason for Funny or Die. In it, Jason rubbed a phone around her boob, joking that she had “no signal” in her head but did in her chest. He also said he’d like to take her “behind the couch” and “have his way” with her if she were 18. Gross. Looking back at the clip, she was horrified by the mistreatment, which she said she had no legal power over.

Speaking to Variety on Wednesday, Courtney said she realized she was offended by the video years later when she was watching Pretty Woman and saw a scene in which Jason’s character assaults prostitute Vivian Ward, played by Julia Roberts, in a hotel suite. She recalled:
“I was in shock. It felt very close to home, and like he pulled from Pretty Woman and thought it would be funny to recreate that with a child. I didn’t know he was going to be feeling me up on set.”
She felt she “was very manipulated” into being groped in the clip when she was just a “child,” adding:
“I really just trusted the adults around me, and this is the effect of that. Looking back on it, it’s really damaging.”
The actor has since apologized for the video — and while Courtney appreciates it, she doesn’t think it’s enough. She told the outlet she was “very taken aback” when the 66-year-old put out that statement because she hasn’t “heard a lot of adults take accountability.” She added:
“When I first got word that he publicly apologized I was grateful because I think that’s the first step in change.”
But…
She thinks “it would be even better” for the Young Sheldon star to take “action” by supporting anti-child marriage laws and organizations, as she’s been doing. She specifically urged him to support AB 1267, a California assembly bill that would ban child marriages. She also suggested he donate to a nonprofit trying to end child marriages named Unchained at Last.
Courtney herself got married as a child when she was just 16. Since her divorce, she’s been fighting to change the laws for the future, calling it “really frightening” that Cali still allows these controversial nuptials.
She also told Page Six her digging up the old sketch “isn’t about revisiting the past for its own sake,” elaborating:
“[My goal is to] create a future where children are better protected and where adults in positions of power are held to a higher standard.”
It’s understandable that she wants more than just words from Jason at this point! We’ll see if he does any more, though…
