How many murders and attacks do there have to be until people stop using extremely unsecured Craigslist for prostitution??
Hopefully soon, because it breaks our hearts to see anyone hurt like this.
Two separate attacks happened over April 30th/May 1st, and the police are looking for two similar suspects. Which is kinda scarier, seeing as that means there are at least two separate people working towards hurting and robbing girls from Craigslist and Backpage.com.
The first, on April 30th, found a 24 year old girl needing medical attention after the assault resulted in her hand being cut open. Her phone and money were stolen, and we’ll be honest — she’s lucky to be alive.
The second, on May 1st, found a 30 year old woman choked unconscious after the assailant whipped out a knife and a struggle ensued. She awoke later to find her cash, phone, and laptop stolen.
Police said the suspects were similar in height in build. They also said that they’re not believed to be related to the four slayings of online escorts who were found a desolate stretch of road, which has raised fear of a serial killer.
Either way, it’s about time to stop all this needless risk of online prostitution. It isn’t worth it!
Everyone, stay safe online. Regardless of what you’re doing, there’s no telling what could be dangerous online anymore, especially when it comes to interacting with strangers.
Both attacks took place in hotels in midtown Manhattan: The Roosevelt and Wellington.
