no title
It all went down at the Eastern Dakota Conference’s Cross County Championship in North Dakota…
Near the end of a cross country race, Fargo South runner Danielle LeNoue heard a pop in her knee and collapsed in pain.
She injured her patella tendon! Crying, in so much pain, she tried to walk but couldn’t.

Several runners made their way past the injured girl, except for Devils Lake runner Melanie Bailey, who had to stop and help, saying:

“All I could think about was she was in a lot of pain. And I wanted to help her.”

So Bailey asked LeNoue to hop on her back, which she did. They crossed the finish line together, piggy back style.
Bailey continued:

“Honestly, I loved the way I ended it. It was a great way to end my cross-country season.”

Ha! We sure bet ending your season as a hero feels great!
Sports in general need more athletes like her!
