Cuba Gooding Jr. Is No Longer Wanted For Assault

Phew! We hated the idea of nice guy actor Cuba Gooding Jr. not being, well, a nice guy.
A warrant was reportedly issued for his arrest by the New Orleans Police Department after he allegedly assaulted a bartender at a Bourbon Street bar.
However, it must have all been some big “misunderstanding” because the Jerry Maguire star’s rep is now saying that he is no longer a wanted man. Cuba apparently met with police this morning to clear up the issue, as his rep explained:

“There is no warrant. Mr. Gooding, his representative and the New Orleans authorities met this morning and are moving swiftly to resolve this misunderstanding.”

From what we have heard so far, it sounds like the actor was actually the victim of unwanted attention from drunk bar patrons and just lost his cool when they wouldn’t stop pestering him.
It’s a shame people couldn’t respect his personal space at the establishment, but guess that’s just the price of fame.
