Holy smokes!
Earlier this month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized $3.9 million worth of counterfeit True Religion and Rock & Republic jeans at the Los Angeles-Long Beach port, coming from China.
Kevin Weeks, CBP director of field operations in Los Angeles says, “our enforcement actions continue to pay off. We have an ongoing commitment that is focused toward intercepting shipments containing counterfeit merchandise before they reach the consumer.”
Thank goodness for that! We’d be pissed if we shelled out $300 for a pair of counterfeits.
Apparently, in 2008 CBP seized over $25 million in clothing, and clothing made up 9% of all counterfeits seized.
