Daddy Yankee’s divorce just got REALLY messy!
If you didn’t know, the Gasolina rapper and his wife Mireddys González announced their divorce this month after 29 years of marriage. Truly the end of an era! And for the estranged couple, the end of cordiality. Because things are getting COMPLICATED legally!

In legal docs Yankee, born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, filed in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Friday, he accused Mireddys of withdrawing $80 million from his record label’s bank account “without authorization.” You see, he founded El Cartel Records in 1997, just two years after he married Mireddys, and made her the CEO and and her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos the secretary and treasurer. So he named both Ayeicha and the record label, itself, in his legal docs as well!
In the filings, which have been obtained by multiple outlets, he wrote:
“In spite of the plaintiff being the owner of the shares of the company and being the reason for the existence of the corporation Cartel Records Inc., today he lacks access, interference and information, to all that he generated and continues to generate and to which he is entitled.”
He’s therefore asking the court to remove Mireddys and Ayeicha from “any function or interference in the corporations as officers or administrators thereof and the delivery of the information and documentation that they have illegitimately withheld.” He further claimed the sisters:
“[Attempted to] concentrate in their persons a greater power over the operations of the Cartel than was authorized, which has resulted in a detrimental and negligent performance for the company.”
The 47-year-old also said they “failed to render an accurate account of their actions, disregarded formalities and requirements of the corporate legislation, irresponsible financial decisions.”
According to the legal docs, the sisters made the transaction the day before Yankee filed the docs — after he made it clear “they could not carry out any transactions on behalf of El Cartel.”
Yikes! That’s a LOT of money on the line!
Reactions??
