Earlier, we posted that Daniel Baldwin was being accused of harassing the family that formerly employed his niece. The woman, Helen Smith, went to the courts to request a restraining order to keep Baldwin away from her family.
It has taken only about an hour for Daniel to throw together a little statement to defend himself. Here it is:
“I am left with no option but to respond to the allegations that have been presented to me this morning. My God child Jennifer Keuchler was fired from her nanny position and not compensated for her pre-negotiated time by Greg and Helen Smith. I reached out to Greg on his cell phone last week and explained that Jennifer had given up her apartment in San Francisco to come to Malibu for the summer and take care of his two small children. He assured me that he was fully aware of his financial obligation to Jen and would pay her by the end of the week. I am sober for some time now … The Smith’s did not pay Jen the money that was promised her. They have chosen to stiff her for over $2500. I am sad that they have gone on the offensive with such erroneous accusations against my character. Yes I called Greg and left a message stating the facts. I am VERY concerned for the welfare of their children if Greg is traveling and they are to be left with out additional supervision. It is my intention to let the courts settle any differences between us and I will pray for them all, especially those poor kids.”
