Ink Master tattooist Daniel Silva has been arrested for murder following the car crash that killed YouTube star Corey La Barrie on his 25th birthday.
As we previously shared, it was rumored the 27-year-old would be charged following Sunday’s fatal accident. Although it has yet to be officially confirmed, Silva was photographed at the scene being wheeled away in a stretcher, allegedly with a broken hip per early reports.

Authorities stated on Monday:
“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division announce the arrest of Daniel Joseph Silva, a 27-year-old driver and resident of Los Angeles for murder.”
They also provided a shocking detail: Daniel tried to leave the scene of the crime!
“The driver of the McLaren exited the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by citizens who came to render aid. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported both parties involved in the collision to a local hospital for medical treatment.”
Truly horrible.
The accident took place after 9:30 p.m. in Valley Village, California when “a 2020 McLaren 600LT was traveling eastbound on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. Driver then ran off the road and collided with a stop sign and a tree on the northeast corner of Huston Street and Carpenter Avenue.”
While this confirms the car had been traveling at a high speed, it does not mention whether Silva and La Barrie were intoxicated at the time. Per Corey’s mother, Lissa Harrison, both young men were drunk as they were celebrating her son’s birthday. She penned a confirmation of his passing to Instagram on Monday:
“My heart breaks right now, on my sons 25 birthday today he was very drunk and got into a car with a drunk diver. The accident killed him instantly. No words can describe the sadness I feel in loosening a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair”
Such a sad, sad situation. Even more so because it occurred on Corey’s birthday and on Mother’s Day. We cannot imagine what his loved ones are going through.
R.I.P., Corey.
