Truth: Daryl Hannah is just as sexy and badass as the day Splash hit theaters in 1984!!
The actress was arrested in Winnsboro, TX, Thursday for “standing in front of heavy equipment in an attempt to halt construction” on an oil pipeline designed to bring crude from Canada to the Gulf Coast.
A spokesman for TransCanada says it is “unfortunate” that Hannah and the rest of the protesters “have chosen to the law by illegally trespassing on private property.” Because they were “Putting their own safety and the safety of others at risk.”
The actresses manager seems to have a slightly different perspective on the matter. He says:
“They’ve arrested Daryl Hannah and a rural Texas great-grandmother. The streets of Winnsboro will be much safer tonight now that they’ve gotten that 78-year-old great grandmother off the streets.”
Both ladies were arrested for criminal trespassing and taken to the Wood County Jail.
Now, we don’t condone trespassing, and we don’t necessarily condemn the creation of this oil pipeline. But we have to say we are veeeery impressed with Daryl’s passion in standing up for what she believes is right!
It takes a LOT of guts to do what she did!
We gotta give her — and the old lady — credit!
