Daveigh Chase's Friends Tried To Find 'MIA' Lilo & Stitch Star On Skid Row Months Before She Died

Daveigh Chase‘s friends were hoping to find her months before her tragic death.

As you know, the Lilo & Stitch star sadly died at just 35. Her boyfriend Roy Hernandez confirmed her death and said she died from meningitis and an infection in her blood, which resulted in sepsis and caused her body to shut down. She had also recently been hospitalized due to malnutrition. So, so sad.

To her family and friends, though, this came as a shock. Mainly because, as a source has alleged to TMZ on Thursday, they had no idea where she was. They claim the actress had been MIA for years, leaving her family to try and locate her. Most recently, they went to El Lay’s Skid Row to see if they could find her, giving us a hint at the personal struggles she’d been facing.

A few months ago, per the source, Daveigh’s family was sent a video of a woman on Skid Row that they believed was her. They believed she’d dropped down to about 75 pounds, and tried their best to rush to the area, but by the time they got there she was already gone.

They didn’t stop their search there, though. The insider says they continued searching all over Downtown Los Angeles, hoping to find her, but they never did. Then, sadly, they got the news that she had passed away. Just devastating.

Her former manager John Ryan told The New York Post in an interview:

“We were so close to finding her. Daveigh was the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood. I can’t believe this is real. Her legacy and work will live on forever.”

So sad. We send our thoughts to everyone who loved and knew Daveigh. Rest in peace.
