When David Beckham joined Paris Saint-Germain for some fun soccer times, he promised to donate his wages to a French children’s charity instead of spending it on like a car or something!
Which is super nice of him!
The thing is, it’s been three months and he hasn’t donate anything — so charity bosses are starting to claim it was a publicity stunt!
Not so, says David and a representative! They’re just trying to pick a good cause!
Here’s what Martine Brousse, of nationwide children’s charity La Voix d’Enfant, said:
“I can’t say I’m disappointed because it is what I expected. I assumed that this was a publicity announcement, rather than anything concrete. I thought all along that if Psg did anything, they would set up their own charity so that they could control everything themselves.”
Wow, we totally understand that the money will help kids, but David doesn’t HAVE to donate anything! He’s doing it out of the goodness of his heart! Just be patient, don’t whine! We feel bad for the kids at La Voix d’Enfant because that rude statement might have just made them lose out! Maybe they should find someone else to speak for them!
Here’s what David’s rep said:
“We have had hundreds of requests from Paris and far beyond. It takes time to go through all the possibilities and make sure that a seven-figure sum is spent in the best possible way. I think we will be in a position to identify projects in Paris and maybe more widely in France by the end of this month.”
It’s like Brousse has no concept of how difficult a decision like this is, and the sheer number of requests makes it even harder! The donations is probably going to exceed $5 million David is probably earning a salary of around $261,772 a week!
Relax, everyone! David is a good — AND BUSY — man!
